How to add a reviews widget to WordPress
On WordPress you can use the Fiducia Reviews plugin (shortcode) or paste the code in a Custom HTML block: no theme editing.
Step by step
- Claim your free Fiducia page. Open the owner area, enter your domain and confirm with the link we send to an email address on that domain. Your public review page, badge and widget are free.
- Copy the code. Replace yourshop.com with your domain. The badge shows your rating and links to your review page; the widget shows your latest reviews as a carousel, list or grid.
Badge (with review structured data):
Reviews widget:<script src="https://fiducia.lumnika.com/widget/fiducia-badge.js" data-domain="yourshop.com" data-schema="1" async></script>
Both load asynchronously, use no cookies and are isolated from your site's CSS. Options (layout, language, theme, number of reviews): see the live demo<script src="https://fiducia.lumnika.com/widget/fiducia-reviews.js" data-domain="yourshop.com" data-layout="carousel" async></script> - Paste it in WordPress. Edit the page, click + and add a Custom HTML block, paste the snippet and update. With the plugin installed you can use the shortcode [fiducia_badge domain="yourshop.com" reviews="3"] in a Shortcode block instead.
- Turn on review rich snippets. Use the badge snippet with data-schema="1" in a block that appears on every page (a footer widget or footer template part in the Site Editor).
- Collect reviews automatically. With WooCommerce the plugin sends an invite on every completed order (see below). Without a store, call the invites API from your forms or booking tool.
Automatic invites from WooCommerce
The Fiducia Reviews plugin for WordPress adds the badge as a shortcode and, with WooCommerce, sends a review invite when an order is marked Completed. Paste your API key in the plugin settings: each order is invited only once, even if its status changes again.
Any other tool (Zapier, Make, n8n or your own backend) can send an invite with one HTTP request to the invites API. Create the API key in your dashboard (Pro):
curl -X POST https://fiducia.lumnika.com/api/v1/invites \
-H "Authorization: Bearer fk_your_api_key" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{"email":"customer@example.com","name":"Maria","orderRef":"1042"}'The response is 202 with the invite link. Sending the same orderRef again returns 409 and no second email, so retries are safe. Limit: 500 invites per 24 hours.
Questions
Will the widget slow down my WordPress site?
No. The script is small, loads asynchronously after your page, has no dependencies and sets no cookies. If the review service is unreachable the badge simply does not appear.
Will Google show review stars for my site?
Google does not show star snippets for reviews a business publishes about itself on its own site (self-serving reviews of LocalBusiness and Organization). The structured data is still read by other search engines and by AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini, and your public Fiducia page is a separate site where your rating can appear.
Which WordPress plan do I need?
Self-hosted WordPress: any setup. WordPress.com: Custom HTML with scripts and plugins need the Business plan or higher.
Is it free?
Yes: the public page, the badge, the widget with your latest reviews and manual invites are free. Pro (€19/$19 a month, 14-day free trial) adds automatic invites (Stripe, API, plugins), bulk CSV invites, up to 50 reviews in the widget and no branding.
